About OS setup wizard

The OS setup wizard allows the user to:

• select OS settings;
• create the main user account (administrator).

Control buttons:

• 🛈 — open the help window;
• [Next] — go to the next settings page;
• [Previous] — go to the previous settings page;
• [Setup] — apply the settings.

A screen keyboard is available in the setup wizard for text input.

To open the screen keyboard, press the keyboard icon.

To minimize the screen keyboard, press [v] on the screen keyboard.

OS setup wizard language selection

The OS setup wizard language can be selected from the Choose language drop-down list on the first page.

The selected language is applied immediately.

Press [Next] to move to the next settings page.

License agreement

The License agreement page contains the text of the license agreement according to which the OS is shipped.

The License Agreement is also available at the developer's official website https://astra.ru/info/law.

The QR-code provided in the OS setup wizard window can be used as a quick link;

Proceed with the OS setup wizard:

• read the license agreement conditions;
• check I accept the terms and conditions of the license agreement box to accept the license conditions;
• Press [Next] to move to the next settings page.

Regional settings

The UTC time zone, date, and time can be set on the Regional settings page.

To select the time zone:

• for time zones outside the Russian Federation, check Show all time zones in a list.
• select one of the time zones:
• select the UTC time zone from the Select your time zone from the list drop-down list;
• start typing a large city/capital name or the time zone offset (with a plus-minus sign, e.g. "+07") in the Select your time zone from the list drop-down list text field. From the suggested options, select the desired time zone;
• click the map with the left mouse button.

The selected time zone will be applied in the system after the OS setup wizard completion at the first login.

Set the date:

• enter the required date to the Date field;
• press [v] in the Date field. In the calendar, select year, month and day. When the day is selected the calendar will close, the Date field will display the date selected in the calendar.

The set date will be applied immediately.

Enter time in the Time field.

The set time will be applied immediately.

Press [Next] to move to the next settings page.

Input language and keyboard layout

On the Input language and keyboard layout page input languages and the keyboard layout change shortcut can be set.

To add a new input language, in the Input language drop down list:

• press [+]. The language selection window will open;
• in the language selection window select the language from the list of languages. Use the Layout language field to search for the required language;
• press [Apply] — the language selection window will close and the selected language will be added to the Input language list.

Delete an input language:

• select the language from the Input language list using the left mouse button;
• press [–];

The keyboard shortcut to switch between input languages can be selected from the Keyboard shortcut for switching language drop-down list.

The selected input language and the language switching keyboard shortcut will be applied in the system after the OS setup wizard completion at the first login.

Press [Next] to move to the next settings page.

User

The User page allows to set up the main user account (administrator).

To select the user account avatar:

• click on the round image;
• in the pop-up window click on the desired image. The user account avatar will be replaced with the selected one.

Enter the administrator account name in the Think of a username field.

The administrator account name must meet the following requirements:

• the name must start with a lowercase Latin letter followed by any combination of lowercase Latin letters, digits and dashes ("-");
• the name must be 1-32 characters long;
• system-reserved names are prohibited.

If the name does not meet any of the requirements, the [Setup] button will be inactive.

Note. Do not use admin as the administrator account name.

To set and confirm the administrator account password, enter it to Think of a password and Repeat password fields.

The administrator password must contain at least eight characters.

If the password field is left empty, the password is shorter than 8 characters, or the entered passwords do not match, the [Setup] button will be inactive.

It is recommended to use a complex password containing characters from at least three of the following groups:

• uppercase and/or lowercase Latin letters;
• digits;
• punctuation characters;
• math characters;
• special characters.

To display the entered password, press and hold the eye icon in the password entry field.

The full name may be entered to the optional field Think of a full name.

Press [Previous] to move to the previous settings page.

Press [Setup] to finish the setup. The OS setup will start displaying the progress on the screen (see OS Setup).

OS Setup

The OS setup progress bar is displayed on the screen (black screen may be displayed when the setup is completed). Do not turn off or reboot the computer until the system login screen is displayed.

On the login screen enter the administrator user name and password set up previously in the OS setup wizard.
